Our gabion boxes and mattresses are crafted from triple-twisted hexagonal mesh fabric, ensuring strength and durability. All wires used in the production of our gabions are hot-dip galvanized in accordance with BS 443 / BS EN 10244-2 standards and undergo tensile testing as per BS EN 10223-3:1998.
Gabion baskets are rectangular wire mesh containers, reinforced with heavier selvedge wire along the edges for added strength. These baskets are pre-assembled in the factory, then folded and flat-pressed using a hydraulic press for easy storage, handling, and transport. The process begins with testing the wires, which are loaded onto the pay-off side of the gabion machine. Wires are placed on spools, and preformed spiral coils are loaded into netting tubes. These wires are then fed into a rack-and-pinion system that twists and pulls the wires to form the required hexagonal-shaped mesh. Once the desired coil length is achieved, the machine automatically stops, and the coil is removed.
The gabion mesh is then cut and assembled with selvedge and lacing wires to create gabion boxes in various sizes, tailored to meet customer specifications.
